Q + A

Can I bring a plus 1 ?

We’re so excited to celebrate with our closest friends and family! Due to space limitations and to ensure an intimate atmosphere, we kindly ask that only those with a designated invitation bring a guest. If we know your plus-one personally, they will already be included on your invitation. Thank you for understanding, and we can't wait to celebrate with you!

What airport should i fly into?

Get ready for an adventure in paradise! Our love story takes us to the exotic shores of Tulum, where a brand-new international airport has welcomed international flights adding a touch of excitement to our celebration. While direct or international flights to Tulum might be limited for now, the vibrant Cancun International Airport is another great option. For seamless flight bookings, I recommend exploring options on Google Flights, Expedia.com, or CheapTickets.com. When you are flying into Mexico, you may or may not be given a customs form to fill that'll likely be provided by the flight attendants (on rare occasions, you might have to fill it out at the Cancun or Tulum Airport). Upon arrival, Mexican Customs will take part of the form and leave you with the remainder. PLEASE KEEP THE CUSTOMS FORM SAFE! You will need to provide it to your departing flight gate agent and there is now a fee if you lose it. IF you do not have one, no need to worry…everything will be electrically saved for your arrival and departure. The Cancun Airport is not a large hub and tends to be very hot and humid. Once you get off the plane, move quickly to Customs. We've traveled to Cancun airport many times and have experienced very easy Customs processes and lines, but have also had a few challenging experiences. There are hundreds of taxis and transportation services waiting for you once you exit the airport, but keep in mind it can get pricey and we recommend arrange airport transportation to Tulum BEFORE your journey. Your taxi or shuttle driver is going to want to be tipped in American US Dollars or pesos-don't forget! Happy travels and we so look forward to celebrating together!

Where to stay?

We have reserved the beautiful Muare Hotel Tulum for our exclusive use during the wedding weekend! All wedding transportation will be departing and returning to this location. We encourage you to reserve early as it is a 26 room boutique hotel. To book, please email reservations@muarehotel.com under the reference " THE NICHOLS WEDDING".

Do I need a passport?

YES. Please do not forget you will need a passport to enter and exit Mexico. A valid passport book is required to enter Mexico by air, and those attempting to enter at an airport with a U.S. passport card only, may be denied admission. Also, if your passport expiration date is in within 6 months time, it is considered expired and will need to be renewed before you leave the US.

SHOULD I BRING CASH WITH ME TO MEXICO OR IS CREDIT CARD ENOUGH?

Cash is KING! Embarking on your Tulum adventure? Embrace the modern charm of this destination, where Mexican pesos reign supreme. The best currency to bring to Mexico is US dollars as well as a mix of pesos. We recommend having $1's & $5's (dollars) to tip the staff and about $200USD in worth of pesos for taxis and other transactions that only require pesos. A lot of credit cards typically have an additional charge for foreign transactions so keep this in mind when determining how much cash to bring and/or what credit card you will be using. Remember to inquire with your bank to know the foreign exchange fees when purchasing with a credit card or withdrawing cash from an ATM. While I've found it handy to carry a bit of cash for tipping cabbies, Tulum is credit card-friendly, though some cards may bear some additional transaction fees. For a seamless experience, consider converting to Mexican pesos at an ATM for the fairest rates. Rest assured, U.S. dollars are widely accepted, but if you prefer, currency exchange is available at both exchange houses in Tulum Centro and hotel zone as well as the airport.

Feeling hot hot hot?

The climate in Tulum is very warm and humid and daytime temperatures dance around 80-85 degrees and balmy nights around 65-75 degrees. Make sure to pack light and comfortable clothing for your stay, as well as bathing suits for swimming and sunbathing. If you plan to do any excursions on your trip - don't forget to pack appropriately (water shoes, sneakers, athletic clothing). I would also recommend for ladies to bring a shawl or light jacket for when the sun goes down - the breeze might get a bit chilly!

Is there a dress code for welcome party and wedding?

Please see the Attire tab on our website for the wedding weekend dress codes. All the details are located there!

CAN I TAKE PICTURES AND VIDEOS DURING THE CEREMONY?

Absolutely! We would love to see this magical moment from all angles, PLEASE TAG US @itsvallnichols @tnichols1706 ❤️

Wedding day transportation

The wedding venue is located 5 minutes South of Tulum town, and very close to Muaré Tulum. The charm of our wedding venue is that it is a private villa/property in the jungle, naturally secluded yet in close quarters with central Tulum. We will be providing safe and secure transportation to and from the wedding. Both the ceremony and the reception are held in one place, so once we have arrived at the venue, the entire night will take place there.

Will the wedding reception and ceremony be outdoors?

Both the wedding ceremony and reception will be held outdoors and with gravel pathways- so please keep this in mind and dress appropriately. There are a few indoor rooms within the villa for guests to use if needed. The venue is surrounded by natural greenery and trees, so there will be plenty of shade.

How long should I stay?

Indulge in the luxury of time as you plan your stay in picturesque Tulum! Feel free to extend your visit for as long as your heart desires. For an optimal experience, consider arriving on the tranquil shores either a couples of days before and/or after the wedding celebration allowing the rhythmic waves of relaxation to set in. Immerse yourself in the magic of Tulum's ambiance, culminating in the grand celebration on March 29, 2025. This way, your Tulum sojourn transforms into an unforgettable journey, offering not just a wedding but a lingering embrace of paradise that you'll cherish for a lifetime.

It’s in the water?!

As a note, you should not drink tap water in Mexico. The water is purified at the source but with the contaminated infrastructure, the water is unsafe to consume. In Mexico, the bottled drinking water (and ice) are sold in various sizes and most Airbnbs, hotels, and Villas will provide large containers of water: 5 gallon jugs called *GARRAFONES* Most of the restaurants that cater to tourists, use purified water for their guests but some market stands and food carts may be a bit riskier.
